Professor Robert J. Vallerand is Full Professor of Psychology at the Université du Québec à Montréal. He has published 12 books and around 400 scientific articles and book chapters cited over 75,000 times. His research focuses on motivational processes and especially passion for activities. He has served as President of the Canadian Psychological Association and the International Positive Psychology Association. He is a Fellow of more than 15 associations, including the American Psychological Association, the Association for Psychological Science, the Society for Personality and Social Psychology, and many others. He has received numerous awards, including the Christopher Peterson Gold Medal Award from the International Positive Psychology Association, the Donald Hebb Award from the Canadian Psychological Association, the William James Award from the American Psychological Association for his 2015 book, The Psychology of Passion with Oxford University Press, and the Sport Science Award from the International Olympic Committee. His most recent book is Passion for work: Theory, research, and Applications with Prof Nat Houlfort and was published with Oxford University Press in 2019.
