Neuropsychology is a scientific study of the structure and function of the brain with relation to specific psychological processes and behaviors. It is an experimental field of psychology that aims to understand how behavior and cognition are influenced by brain functioning and is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of behavioral and cognitive effects of neurological disorders. Neuropsychology shares the information processing view of the mind with cognitive psychology and cognitive science since it is one of several branches in a broad field of neurosciences. Neuropsychologists within the Neuropsychology working group of the ICP 2020 Congress should connect with neuropsychologists working worldwide, those from cutting-edge university and academia laboratories as well as those working in clinical practice in different regions of the world. To further this theme, we offer innovative, high-quality, individual or thematic symposia, in an effort to advance the clinical neuropsychological field. The range of topics will cover insights into the cognitive and affective neuroscience of healthy and disease states, innovations in psychometrics, and state-of-the-art neuropsychiatric treatment, enhancement, and rehabilitation approaches.

Core topics:

  • Healthy ageing, subjective cognitive decline, mild cognitive impairment
  • Neurodegeneration
  • Functional movement disorders
  • Neuropsychological assessment
  • Neuropsychology of schizophrenia
  • Developmental neuropsychology
  • Spatial Navigation
